Totally “Fort Worth” It!

Hermana Kelsey 6:3 -email-

Dear darling missionaries,

I hope you had a great week. We had an incident last Monday. Our darling Emily got in a car accident. She is ok and the guy she hit is ok, but Carl (Sandy) is totaled. They thought it was going to be not a total, but they pulled things apart and found more damage. Em, is so sad. And has been not wanting to drive as much. She missed a stop sign that was partially covered by a tree, and t-boned another car. Damage was done to her right front corner of the car and the other car was damaged by the left front fender and the wheel was bent in at the top. It could have been so much worse. I am thankful it happened the way it did. So Emily got her license the Tuesday before and by Monday of the next week she had her first accident. People have been telling her that now she won’t have one, because she got it out of the way. Write something to her on this email. She is at work and won’t be able to write, because we are going up to Park City tonight.
Mi Familia!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!

and Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!
Awww no! Sandy!! I’m glad Em is okay though. That’s really sad to hear. 🙁
We also had car troubles this week. But more on that later.
So last Monday…we accidentally did a bad thing. So it was p-day of course, and we needed to go to Wal-mart to shop. So Sister Q searched in her GPS for the closest Wal-mart, and we went to it. And then guess who I see there?! Hermana J, who was in my zone at the MTC. And guess what? She is serving in the DALLAS MISSION!! Yeah, that’s right! We not only accidentally left our area, we accidentally left our mission!! It was crazy. I felt to so so guilty, but we have since repented and it’s all good now. 🙂
Awww Tashie!! She is so stinkin adorable. I love those pictures you sent of her, because they are so Natasha. The one with her not even looking at the camera, and the other one of her running like a tard. Oh man! I want to hug her little squishiness! I’m glad you are taking her to church though. We have so many people who are having trouble with being active in the church, and I know how hard it is to see that, and to deal with it. It can be really frustrating. Just continue to do all you can. It will make a difference in the future for her. 🙂
Man, I am so looking forward to watching the new Harry Potter movie. Although I’m kind of sad that it is officially over now. 🙁 It’s been such a big part of my life for so long. Ha ha. Just kidding. But yeah, we should definitely do that.
Mom, good job for walking! I’m so proud of you. Just keep it up. 🙂
Okay, so about our car troubles. So the other day we got in the car, and the check tire pressure alert was on. So we checked the tires. The drivers side back tire was low. So we filled it up. The next morning it was low again. So we decided to talk to the guy in charge of the cars for the mission to see what we could do about it. He told us we could go to Pep Boys. Apparently, the church has some sort of contract with Pep Boys so they are supposed to do all of our car work. So we go there, and we tell them we need our tire checked. It takes them an hour to check the tire, then another hour to tell us that they need to replace it. When they told us the total for the tire, we also asked them if they could change our wipe blades because they were falling apart. So it takes them another hour to finish changing the tire, and switch the wiper blades. Then the guy that was doing the work comes to bring us our car. As he is backing out of the stall thing, he backs our car into another customers car!! Yeah. Sister Q saw him do it, and called him out on it, because he was going to drive away and act like nothing happened. So then we had to wait another hour to figure out the paperwork, and get all their insurance information. Amount of time spent at the Pep Boys: 4 hours. 4 hours that we can never get back, and that we could have spend sharing the gospel with people who really need it. It was so frustrating. Grrr! That was on Saturday. And then yesterday, we were driving home in the night, and I went to clean off the windshield, because we got some random gunk on it. And guess what happened? I bet you’ll never guess. The windshield wiper that just got replaced flies off into the night, never to be seen again. I think it’s pretty obvious we are never going back to that Pep Boys again.
Dad, I’m glad you are doing fun things. And enjoying life.
Keep doing what you are doing. 🙂
That would really not be cool. Is he going to be okay?
Emerny! Sorry about your bad experience with the car. I’m sad that Sandy is gone now, but she had a good run. 🙂 I’m also glad that you are okay. Don’t let this make you afraid of driving though. We live and learn, right? Now you’ll just be a more cautious driver. At least for a little while. 🙂
Anyways, bye family. I have to go now. Love you all lots. Keep doing god things! 🙂
Love, Kelsey

#26

Today my darlin and I have been married for 26 years. He was my friend, before he became my sweetheart. And we have been best friends since we fell in love.

We were reflecting today on the last 26 years, and thinking of all that’s happened. Wonderful memories like, the birth of each of our four children. And the birth of our granddaughter. We talked about the places we’ve visited. The fun memories we have of seeing new things and sharing it with each other and our family.

Mingled in the fun and wonderful memories are all of the heartache and struggles we have had over the years. Some really hard things we have gone through together. Mostly though are the everyday frustrations of living in this world. At any given time in all our lives we are dealing with cars that break, children who are struggling and wanting us to give them the answer, financial difficulties, sickness and more. We have been challenged all along the way.

When I look back I am amazed at where we’ve been, and what we’ve accomplished, together.

I have a best friend, lover, sweetheart, and confidant that I have been able to share my journey with, a journey that is wonderful and challenging, a journey that will continue -forever!

I love you, darlin!

I am glad you’re mine!

It’s National Root Beer Float Day!

Everyone has their favorites! For me one of my favorite things is Root Beer Floats! I adore them. I was so excited to find out that there is actually a day to celebrate them!!

he thing that I enjoy so much when eating them is, when the ice cream turn kind of slushy and frozen. MMMM! It doesn’t matter when I eat them, even if it’s winter time, I can always go for a Root Beer Float!! I think I’ll have one right now!

Happy National Root Beer Float Day!!

Family History Friday: This is good information!

I found this great place to get an amazing amount of information about doing your “Family History”. It’s called GeneaBloggers.com. It has a list of over 1,900 genealogy blogs. Now that is amazing! There is a place to find resources, a list of upcoming events, and a list of blogs by type, depending on where or what you are researching. I think it is a great place to get help with your “Family History”. You can find it here! Happy Family History Friday! Love, Joy

Mama,

This week has gone by so fast. I swear it was just p-day the other day! But things are going well. We have a few baptisms coming up soon, so I’m pretty excited for that. Hopefully I will be sending some pictures home soon. I’ve been really bad about taking pictures, but I’m trying to do better. We have seen quite a few miracles in the past week or so. God is definitely putting people where they need to be for us to find them. We have met so many legit people in the last couple days especially. It’s so amazing to get to bring this wonderful gospel to people, and see the change that it brings into their lives. I am surely starting to love Arlington. Temple will always have a special place in my heart, but I think I can make room for Arlington too. 🙂

That’s so cool you had some people that served in Spain come speak to you. Did they talk funny? They have a thing in their spanish there called the “theta” and they say certain things with like a lisp. They will say corazon “corathon” (like with a th instead of a z). I only know about that, because there were some elders in my district in the MTC called to Spain, and a teacher that served there told us about it. Pretty funny.

Anyway, I got my birthday package! Thank you thank you thank you so much for sending it! 🙂

Anyway, I’m so excited for you to start doing daycare. That will be so fun. I’m sure you’ll love it.

Well, I better go now. Love you lots. Thanks for all you do for me. I really appreciate it. 🙂

Love, Hermana Kelsey

Papi,

Man, I miss zucchini bread. The lady that we live with cooks a little bit, and she made cupcakes for my birthday, but I don’t think she would take requests, and I don’t have time to bake anything really. So I’ll just have to wait until I get home.

We played tennis once when I was down in Temple, because we had a tennis court at our apartment complex, and an elder had rackets for us to use. It was really fun. I still suck though. 🙂

Ha ha ha. Oh my special brother. Sometimes he just doesn’t think through things before he does them. 🙂 🙂

Well, I better go now. Love you lots. Have a great week. 🙂

Love, Hermana Kelsey

Emmysaurus Rex,

Hey seester! I’m still waiting for another letter back from you!!! That’s so crazy you are going to be a senior!! Wow!! I swear you were just a tiny little thing like yesterday. You kids grow up way too fast. 🙂 Ha ha.

I still can’t believe you renamed Sandy Carl. That doesn’t seemt to fit her at all. But whatever.

Anyway, I better go now. Love your face. Peace and Blessings!!!
