More Creative Peeps!

These amazingly nifty fishes were in a park in Park City, Utah. Like I’ve said before, some people are so creative!!

Check out the things that went into making them. The right fin on this one looks like a side mirror from a truck.

This one is so cute!!! The mouth is a tool chest. The right fin looks like a hub cap. Amazing! The eye on this one looks like and old head light from a old car. I love them!!

The Wonder Horse!

This is the “Wonder” horse that my kids grew up riding. We’ve had it for at least 23 years. Now my sweet granddaughter, Natasha, plays on it. When Riley was old enough to lose interest in the horse, we decided to store it in the garage. It was there for a while, in fact, it had not been seen by the children for quite some time. Christmas was coming and my darlin and I had a great idea. Alex loved small toy horses and played with them all the time. We thought, “Let’s paint the ‘Wonder’ horse and give it to Flexy for Christmas.” What a great idea! So we got busy painting and on Christmas morning it was waiting by the tree for Alex. Riley came running in and said, “Hey…, that looks like my old ‘Wonder’ horse!” All of the kids stopped and looked. Now, when you are the mother to a kid like Riley, you have to think on your feet. I said, “I thought your ‘Wonder’ horse was out in the garage?” Then he answered, “Oh, yeah!”  That was close. Christmas morning continued with our darling children happy as could be.

It’s National Root Beer Float Day!

Everyone has their favorites! For me one of my favorite things is Root Beer Floats! I adore them. I was so excited to find out that there is actually a day to celebrate them!!

he thing that I enjoy so much when eating them is, when the ice cream turn kind of slushy and frozen. MMMM! It doesn’t matter when I eat them, even if it’s winter time, I can always go for a Root Beer Float!! I think I’ll have one right now!

Happy National Root Beer Float Day!!

A friend on the back porch!

We had a special guest at the back door,
the other morning!

This is him through the storm door.

He’s kinda cute!!

And of course you know, I laughed
and laughed, and then snapped this picture to share with you!

We don’t know if he has a name or not.

How nice of him to visit!!

There was also a friend of his, on top of my darlin’s truck, too.

Diet Dr. Pepper!

So I don’t know if I told you, but I teach the
ladies in
Relief Society
now. It’s a little different than teaching the kids in
Primary.
They hold still and they raise their hands when they want to talk. Also, they don’t have to tell you what they’ve been doing,
or the dirt on their family
for the first 10 minutes of class.
Funny!
Anyway, I was talking about
tithes and offerings.
It was a good lesson for me to prepare.
I understand the topic, but we all need reminders,
about why we do the things we do. I shared a quote by C.S. Lewis (you can read it here).
What a great man. So, as I’m teaching, I say something to the effect of,
“Can we give more?
Do we buy things we don’t really need?
Like I say to myself,
‘Do I really need this
Diet Dr. Pepper?'”
After which all the ladies are laughing. It is true though! I have a struggle with this. Well, a few days later, my friend Tricia shows up at the front door.
She is holding a case of
Diet Dr. Pepper
I just busted up laughing, because the box says, “Joy, For Medicinal Purposes”, with a smiley face. She went on to say that someone she loved used to use that excuse about liquor. So, funny!! I guess we all have a vice of some kind. And mine is
Diet Dr. Pepper!!
I’ll keep working on it, though!
*****
*singing*
I’m a Pepper, You’re a Pepper, He’s a Pepper, She’s a Pepper, wouldn’t you like to be a Pepper too? Dr. Pepper! Drink Dr. Pepper!!!
